Mateki MO-042 Flute - Open-hole, B-foot, C# trill key for sale in Olympia, WA

1 of 1
Mateki is a small company in Japan that makes handmade flutes, not so many as Miyazawa or Muramatsu, but comparable in price and quality. This one has a low serial number (under 1000) and has a headjoint made by S Watanabe. It is all silver, including the keys, open-hole inline G, low B and a C# trill key (which is really useful for high-G to A). It has drawn tone-holes. The flute is in very good mechanical condition. Its last service was in 2013, a clean/oil/adjust, a few pads replaced as needed with ordinary pads. I can easily play to low B on it and the 3rd/4th octave notes are good, also. A full overhaul would make this flute all a serious student or professional would need for years to come. The case has seen more wear-and-tear than the flute itself. The case cover is fake leather, where the coating has cracked and come off in places, though the cloth underneath is intact, the handles are attached and the zippers work. There is a zippered pocket along the top, for cleaning rod (aluminum one inluded), cloth and pencil. It's a compact french-style case, wood covered with leather. The zipper of the case cover has made slight abrasions in the front of the case.
